About the Monasch Collection

The Monasch Collection offers bespoke rugs that are more than a beautiful fashion piece for your floor. Only the finest, sustainable wool from New Zealand and Europe is used in the creation of Best Wool's Monasch rugs, which means that your rug is part of a renewable fiber life cycle. The Niaga® backing is a recyclable polyester that can be separated from the wool weave, leaving two distinct materials that can be recycled and put back into the flow for new product creation or, in the case of wool, biodegrade back into nature.

The Four Pillars of the Monasch Collection

HEALTH

Wool is considered a non-allergenic fiber and contributes to a healthier indoor living environment by capturing fine particles like dust and pollen and absorbing VOCs.

DURABILITY

A durable product lasts, which helps reduce waste in our landfills. The Monasch Collection takes durability further by crafting their rugs from renewable and sustainably harvested wool and by making them recyclable with the use of Niaga® backings.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

All Monasch wool rugs are made in the Netherlands by Best Wool and their team of skilled craftsmen. From the shepherds to the thread spinners, the designers to the rug builders, decades of expertise and inspiration are threaded into every Monasch woolen rug.

COMFORT

Nothing beats the ultimate comfort of wool. From plush, thick wool fibers to thinly spun yarns, wool rugs add character, warmth and insulation. Plus, wool is naturally fire-retardant and absorbs sound.
